OK you are at Kanga House and you have seen the Opera House
– what else can you do?
Try this.
Walk the other way to Rushcutters Bay and look at the yachts at the Cruising Yacht Club.
That’s where they start the Sydney to Hobart Race on Boxing Day and where the Olympic sailing was held.
There’s a beaut park with a little kiosk serving great food there.
Or this
Walk down to Oxford Street and Paddington.
They have the most interesting
shops in Australia we reckon. From there it’s a quick walk to Fox Studios with
Eat Street, great movie theatres (cinemas) and different shops.
Just across the road from there is Centennial Park where Australian Federation
was formally declared in 1901.
You could spend a week exploring the ponds and gardens –
it is a fantastic place for a run or bike ride.
You wouldn’t know you were in the big city.
Other great things to do
You’ve heard of Bondi but have you heard of Coogee, Bronte, Tamarama or Clovelly?
They are all Eastern Suburb ocean beaches you can easily reach from Kings Cross.
Have you heard of Neilsen Park, Redleaf, Camp Cove, Watsons Bay or Parsley Bay?
They are Eastern Suburb harbour beaches – without the surf but with the same golden sand.
They are less busy than the ocean beaches but perfect for swimming and sun baking.
Again - easy to get to from Kanga House.
Excursions to the Blue Mountains, Canberra, the wine country and wildlife
parks start from Kings Cross. There’s a dive shop just a few steps from us on Victoria Street.
 There’s a great old pub that holds Trivia Nights just down the stairs in
Woolloomooloo and a range of bars from posh to cheap and cheerful within a short stroll –
but not within earshot!
Working
If you’re working you couldn’t get a better place to stay.
No long walks or bus rides to get anywhere – a 2 minute walk and you are on the train.
The city is next stop and the North Shore office centres are less than 30 minutes away.
